The only thing you need to check is your Internet connection to see if it is properly working and if the firewall is configured properly to allow the application to use the Internet to connect to the servers. If you have router, make sure to log-in on the administration interface and activate UPnP.

I installed COD 4 on my PC but when the installation finished it said this :

DirectX(R) encountered an unrecoverable error. Please check the DirectX(R) FAQ for possible solutions.

I downloaded the DirectX 9 and saw this :

A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.

How can I fix this problem?

L
Answer by Leonard Moore

In order to fix this problem, you can try several things. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> double-click Services -> right-click Cryptographic Services -> click Properties -> choose Automatic for Startup type, and then click Start.

If this doesn't work, update your DirectX to the latest version. Also, you need to update your video card driver to the latest version then uninstall and install the COD game again.

I need something to solve my ping problem. Can you help?

P
Answer by Pete Clapp

In order to solve the ping problem, press Alt + Ctrl + Delete key combination, open Task Manager and close all unnecessary programs (web browsers, instant messenger, etc.) that may use your Internet bandwidth. After that, launch the game and press the ~ key to enter in the game console. Type \cl_maxpackets 100, press Enter, type \pb_sleep 500, hit Enter and type \pb_writecfg and press the Enter key again. Also, make sure you're joining to servers with low ping.
